About Me

pgb2016I live in the City and am therefore very accessible for voters.  I am married with three children, two of whom work in Central London.  Having previously commuted to the City for 20 years, I understand the issues of transport and accessibility for those working in the Square Mile.

I was elected a Common Councilman for the Ward of Walbrook in December 2016 since when I have been pleased to hear and respond to views and concerns raised within the Ward, ensuring they are dealt with by the relevant committees and officers.I’ve enjoyed a high degree of prominence in the London property industry for over 25 years, with more than 40 years of overall professional experience.

I was City Surveyor to the City of London Corporation from 2007-2016, the 34th to hold that title since 1487, managing £3.5 billion of investment property, totalling over 16 million sq.ft. of space, and managing 600 operational properties across Greater London. Encouraging and facilitating change in property and in business has been at the centre of my work in the City for nearly three decades.

I am a Chartered Surveyor (FRICS), MA(Cantab), a Freeman of the City, Liveryman (Worshipful Company of Chartered Surveyors), Bridgemaster of the City of London and Chairman of a Residents’ Association in the City.
